Tennessee Task Force One

Tennessee Task Force One (TN-TF1) is a vital component of the FEMA Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) system, a national network of highly trained teams designed to respond to complex disaster events, particularly those involving structural collapse and trapped individuals. Based in Memphis, TN-TF1 is sponsored by the City of Memphis and stands as one of 28 such task forces across the United States. 

These teams are equipped with specialized skills and equipment for targeted and wide-area search, technical rescue, medical support, and hazardous materials assessment, enabling them to locate, extricate, and provide initial medical stabilization to victims in confined spaces or challenging environments. 

The FEMA US&R system ensures a coordinated and rapid response to emergencies, providing critical capabilities for saving lives and mitigating the impact of large-scale disasters both domestically and internationally.
